Can I get into a club in NYC with a chalked ID?

I live in the city, so I have a state ID. It's a permit, though, but not everyone drives here. I am almost 20. Will they look closely or just let me in? I'm cute! :) I'm thinking places like Webster Hall, Lotus, etc. Please don't tell me to wait a year. Thanks!
