Freshman Year Unweighted GPA: 4.0, 4.0

Sophomore: 3.8, 4.4

Junior: 5.0, 5.0

Senior: 5.0, 5.0

-Weighted GPA of 4.5

-10 AP classes taken, multiple honors classes

-2 years of Swim and Water Polo, 1 year of varsity on each

-100+ service hours

-Tutor at the local elementary school

-2200 on SAT

-2 years of FBLA

-3 years of National Honors Society

-2 Years of volunteering with Active Citizens of Today

-Perhaps a summer college class (econ)

This is what i think may help me alot in my extra curriculars:

I know its not much, but I'm willing to work on my weaknesses. Got a shot?

  1. Yum yes hello!! APPLY APPLY APPLY!! I went to school with a kid whose academic profile resembles yours and right now he is in Dartmouth.

  2. Your GPA is very strong, and so are your SAT scores. You should take the ACT test and score as high as you can as well.  Also, take subject tests so and do well on them.  Now, it depends on what Ivy League you want to go to.  For Harvard, it might not be enough.  For another Ivy, it might be. I would say apply to them all!  If you still have time, get in some more community service hours, try and get some work experience as well (I don't think I saw that up there.)  Not, to burst your bubble, but many Ivy's like a student with a sad story of a big bank balance.  But, despite that, you have a very, very strong chance.

    Good luck,

    Troublemaker :)

  3. Yes.  There is never a guarantee with Ivies, but your record is strong enough that you have a shot (I just noticed that this is "projected", not actual.  Let me revise this to say that if the actual record is the same as the projected one - which it rarely is - you have a shot).
