I'll be leaving Germany in a few days, and I was wondering if I can get some of the money I spent on taxes back when leaving the country. Is there any restriction how much you can get back? And where in the airport can you do this?

  1. Its called Global Refund.

  2. Just drop by the tax refund desk at the airport and take all of your reciepts. You will get a refund for all of the V.A.T that you paid during your stay. If you are talking a lot of money than they might do a spot check to see if you really have the goods with you.

  3. You need to ask for the proper form to fill out to get some of your taxes back. You have to do this in the store you make your purchase. There is quite a  high deductible and the amount you get back is very little

  4. You need to keep all your receipts and do NOT pack the Items that you bought...you have to SHOW them to the People at the Airport..they do not just take the receipt for granted..i went in November 2006 and i was ticked cause all my Stuff was already packed up..so i didn't get anything back... Good Luck!!  Oh it's not far from the Ticket counters..just ask they will direct you :)
