Can I get my drivers license in another state.?

I am 18 and lost my license when I was 17 in the state of Ohio for 2 years (third ticket). I currently have driving privileges for work and college in Ohio. but I moved to Chicago, Illinois and have a new job and will be going to college here instead. the two questions I have are:

1. Since the state traffic laws are different in Illinois is there anyway I can get my license again here?

2. If I cannot get my license again, how do I go about getting my driving privileges here too?

Any help on this is much appreciated!

Thanks,

Joe

  1. No, you must wait for the 2 years to be up, and then make sure everything has completely cleared (fines and surcharges). Once this is done there shouldn't be any other obstacle.

  2. Nope!

    Go back to drivers school.

    Lost your license so soon?

Please get a bike or take the bus.

    No you cannot.

  3. Once you are suspended, you cannot obtain another license in any state.  I believe what you have is called a hardship/conditional license.  This is only good in your state because the judge granted this to you.

More than likely, you will need to petition the judge in your current state to see if they will grant you a conditional/hardship license.  Maybe since one was already granted from another state, the judge may be more willing to grant one for the current state.

  4. not untill you have cleared Ohio

Apply for the same hardship license...only in IL>

  5. Have you seen your driver's license picture on here yet?
