Question:

Can I get my girlfriend the same credit card offer?

I received an offer in the mail for an AMEX Delta miles card that was much better than what they offer online. My girlfriend just called to try to get the same offer but the sales sperson said that she needs to receive the offer in the mail. Is there anything that she could do to get the same offer in the mail? We're both on the do-not-mail list so we hardly ever get random credit card offers.

  1. If she needs to get the offer in the mail than it is because it is being sent per credit score range.  Your credit score fell into certain parameters that they felt qualied for the special offer.  If she falls into those parameters she should get the offer also eventually.  I think the lady (cust ser) was telling you in a veiled manner that you have to be a really good qualifier, and if she was, she would have heard from them already.

Go to their website.  See if the same offer is on their website.  Apply, but remember if they don't give the same offer, applying lowers fico and fair Isaac a little, so if they don't give such a great offer take it anyway, build with them, and after some time w/that card co.she should get that offer.  Good luck.

Do not call list refers to telemarketing?  Was confused about that part credit card offers usually come by mail.

  2. The offer was a direct solicitation from the credit card company based on information that they have on you (usually second hand marketing stuff). You can't just get an offer, your girlfriend needs to be solicited in the same way. The only thing she can do is apply and ask for the same terms and conditions, this is with the understanding that she meets the credit criteria.

  3. No you can't, the credit card companies decide that.
