Can I get my license taken away?

Question

the cop claims i was going 120 in a 55 zone but i know for a FACT i wasnt because the cars speedometer only goes up to 100 and i was watching it and i dont think i was going any faster than 75. ALSO i was speeding so i could pass someone so will the court give me the benefit of the doubt? i'm 16 and ive had my license for 5 months, i got caught speeding in Virginia and my license was issused in maryland

speeding at all in just 5 months of being licensed would be enough for me to suspend your license for 2 years if i was the judge

Unless you get a good lawyer get used to walking. 20 MPH over is a huge fine and risking losing a license so going like 60 over isn't good. Your also 16 and states are being very strict on young drivers now. In my state any two moving violations between 16 adn 18 and your done. Also, your point abou the speedometer being busted isnt any evidence. Basicaly once you get over 100 you dont know how fast your going.
