Can I get my money back from Geigo?

I got my Geigo insurance 6 month ago. Recently my car just broken, and I decide to sell it. My insurance wont be expired until October. Since I already paid all the money for 6 month, but I am not gonna to use it for the next 2 month. I am wondering if I can get my money back.

  1. yes, they will refund you that money.


  2. Call them and ask them, usually when you pay ahead they will re-imburse you for the difference due to the end of your policy. They can tell you better than we can. Good luck!

  3. Once you sell the car, cancel the insurance and you should get a prorated share (probably about 1/3) of the prepaid auto insurance back.  Check with Geico to see if there is any early-termination fee that might be deducted.

  4. You will get some back

    Insurance policies are front loaded.

    (Front Loading is allowed by some states and not by others)

    percent amounts vary by states and companies

    On a 6 month policy costing 1000 lets say

    Month 1 21% = 210

    Month 2 21% = 210

    Month 3 21% = 200

    Month 4 21% = 180

    Month 5 21% = 120

    Month 6 21% = 80

    with 2 months left you would get 200 back within 30-60 days

    Now if you have a note on your car the lender could put forced insurance on it with them as the only named insured which costs about 40% of your 6 month policy per month
