Hey, Im 18 years old and I am not allowed to see my 12 year old sister. My dad got remarried 2 years ago and she is like, cinderella's stepmom. She kicked me out, and I could never figure out why? Well as time went on, she started to get my little siblings farther and farther from me. Now I never see them. Havent in over a year. My dad just wants to please her. My and my little sister Brandy, we had the closest sister bond ever. Like in the movies. I mean, me and her wee best best friends. I would pick her up from school everyday. The school would even call me, not my dad, when she was sick. We played barbies for hours, even though I was 15. lol

When my dad got married that all ended. Me and Brandy had to say goodbye forever pretty much. I live in the mountains. I promised her that everytime she looked out the window Id wave at her from the mountains. She could see my mountains from her bedroom window. We still write letters secretly. and send pictures and cards. all secret. She tells me she wants me to adopt her. =) Well I cant do that but I would if I could. Isnt there any way I can see her again. She is like my other half. Is there something I could possibly do to see her, it would be going against the parents will. I finally found out why Debbie(stepmom) kicked me out. She robbed her work of 156,000 dollars over 2 years and didnt want me to find out. She is a criminal and my dad is a jerk, he'll do anything for her. my sister has the sweetest heart and hugs and loves EVERYONE. But my dad will not let her see me. He also will not let me see my little tiny brothers. Ages 5 and 8. And Ive never in my life seen my baby sister 9 months old. My question is, how do I get rights to see them without getting my dad in trouble for neglecting his responsibilities as a good parent?

  1. That is sooooooo sad my thoughts are with you.  Keep doing what you are doing and hopefully one day she will have a phone and you can text her.  Im sure in her heart (as in yours) she will know that you are thinking of her often and know that you love her to pieces...

    Good luck

  2. Aww that is soo sad!

Youre life could be a movie!!!

I honestly have no idea about legal rights and stuff, but i just wanted to leave a message to say, i hope you get to see your sister, and that things work out!

  3. i'm not sure how it works in ur country but cant u go to a social worker or welfare place. there's no law stating that a sister cant see a sister unless they got a restraining order on u which i doubt as their reasons are non-existing. try to get an authority involved. someone who can speak for u and do legal stuff. thats the only way they'll listen.

also show them how mature and responsible you are this way if a judge gets involved its likely you will be given rights to see all ur siblings when ever u want.

  4. Contact a lawyer. If you can't afford one you can talk to people at family services and see if they have any advice. I really don't know how it will work out but I know some grandparents have gotten visitation rights in the courts so possibly you can too.

Why isn't your stepmother being prosecuted for the theft? If you know and the authorities don't, can you prove she did it? Even if you can't you can talk to the police or someone at the business she stole from about it and they can look into it. If she really did steal that money then she shouldn't be raising your brothers and sister. She is a thief and should be prosecuted.
