  1. No....You need to have a DMAT account for purchasing shares. And for opening of DMAT account, PAN card is a must.....


  2. No. You should have PAN for trading in the stocks.  Although Demat is not compulsory, but it has become the default way of trading stocks. s

    You cann't buy shares without PAN because PAN is the requirement to open trading account.

    Please confirm the same with one or two trading companies
