You can. Make sure you know what you're looking up, though.

Something that I've always done is, when I don't understand a word or want to learn more about something I heard about on TV, a movie, documentary, etc., -- I'll write it down. Look it up later.

This way, when you come across that topic again, you have some information on it.

No you cant get smart by just going into a library! Its not a magical building that makes you smart (lol) but yes if you read more books it will broaden your vocabulary, boost your spelling and widen your knowledge on an array of things.

Not by osmosis you wouldn't, it would require not only going but reading the books that are there too!

Find what type of reading you like and go for it - I LOVE to read ~ and have found that it has really helped my knowledge of things!
