Can I get sum pretty thick lenses into a prescription glasses like this one?

I dont have any sunglasses because i have bad eyesight, meaning i need prescription ones, and i want one in an aviator style frame like this one:

and i want to kno, if ne1 out there knows about this, whether opticians can get sum pretty thick lenses into a pair of these prescription sunglasses...i dont kno wat dioptre glasses i have, but the thickness in the middle is: 0.3 cm, and the thickness at the sides are 0.5 cm.

  1. Your lenses are that thick in the frame you have now, but the bigger the frame is, the thicker your lenses will be too.

    You will have to discuss what you want with an optician , and they will be able to show you how big a frame you can go that will still make sense for your prescription.


  2. They make featherweight lenses so even a strong prescription can be made into thinner lenses and they are more comfy on the face, too... I do think you will be able to get frames like that AND the lenses you want.  I suggest getting Transition lenses... the lenses become dark in the sunlight, like sunglasses, and then lighten when you are inside, so they look just like regular glasses.  Then you don't have to worry about prescription sunglasses and switching between two pairs when you are inside or outside!

  3. um im not sure. those will probably be a good idea tho and another choice might be to get a normal pair of perscribed glasses and get the separate sunglass lenses that attach, those seem quite popular, but the ones in your link look more proffesional. i think you would like them more
