It is possible to directly network a tivo DVR box to a computer.

I'm not sure about your Dish Network DVR box.... look to see if it has USB ports on the back.

People are pulling the hard drives out of their DirectTv boxes and re-imaging the harddrive to enable the USB ports.  Then they put a USB wireless network card (has to be the right one) in it... and it then has all the recorded video available to your network and can be accessed and watched on any computer on that network.

if your computer has the capabilities of being hooked up to your dvr with AV cables (red/white/yellow) then it is possible. you also need a dvd burning program. you can capture what is played into your computer and copy it on your computer. then change the file type to wma or wav and burn what you captured onto dvd.

i worked at a tv station that did this with city meetings. they captured the meetings to the computer and then i would come in and put them on dvd.

You can do it with DVD Xpress.

I saw a newer model at WalMart recently. It was the DVD Xpress2. I can’t remember for sure what it cost but I think it was $39.95.

You connect the composite output of your DVR into the DVD Xpress and connect the DVD Xpress to your computer via a USB cable.
