Will I still be able to take out a travel insurance policy for my holiday to Cyprus even though I was in hospital recently. I have been told by the hospital that I'm allowed to go, however my mum wants me to take out travel insurance, to cover baggage loss, stolen baggage, and any medical expenses. However my mum thinks I wont be able to get a policy because I was in hospital recently is this right?

  1. It depends on your condition as to whether you'll get travel insurance. Your mum is quite correct in asking you to take travel insurance - I would always advice travel insurance in case you need medical treatment. Remember to apply for your EHIC card else your insurance may not pay out.

I use Worldwide Insure http://www.worldwideinsure.com/ as my travel insurer and can recommend them.

  2. TravelSafe Insurance, based in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania, has what it calls a "Cancel For Any Reason" policy that offers up to 100 percent of a traveler's nonrefundable trip costs in cash, depending upon the amount of penalty assessed by the trip or tour provider.

    I would try contacting them.

  3. no

  4. It just depends whats been wrong with you, I'm going to cyprus next week. The post office wanted £40 for a family of four, I got it at 1stoptravel insurance for £22.00. Good luck

  5. You definitely will be able to get a policy to cover your medical and other travel risks, it's a matter of shopping around.

Travel insurance is absolutely essential, I was a travel rep for many years selling insurance as well as holidays.

The horror stories I heard over those years would make your toes curl, not only people trying to save £20 or so by not buying it, but those who lied about previous medical conditions or treatment like your own on their application forms.

It is ESSENTIAL when completing your application that you are 100% honest, otherwise your policy will be completely invalid, you may be asked to pay an excess on your policy to cover your condiditon that is the norm.

I once sold a holiday and insurance to a man who went to Benidorm, he failed to tell me on questioning about previous medical conditions, that he had recently had treatment in hospital for heart problems, he had a heart attack in Benidorm spent two weeks in intensive care and had to be flown home by air ambulance.

As his insurance was now invalid, he had to sell his house, car, everything to pay his expenses, he had saved £10 excess charge on his insurance by not telling me. If you have an hour or so I can tell you even worse cases.

There are many places you can get your insurance including the very good link already given, it is also very easy in your Post Office or even Tesco.

  6. You can get life ins.And right at the airport you can get a policy. Health insurance im' not sure..Any health issue co-exsisting wont be covered.any illness after the policy was take out then yes you'd be covered.

  7. I dont think there will be a problem with getting travel insurance most agents do it on its own, you can either check out the post office as they tend to do travel insurance or the agent you booked your holiday with.

Also online you can do it any place on line. I think you might want to take up health insurance if you have recently been in hospital.

Check out this site it might help:-http://www.workgateways.com/working-uk-i...
