  1. First of all, if the company lays you off, you can file for unemployment.  You probably could get unemployment if you were not working there.  If your paycheck keeps bouncing, I would check your state laws and find out what you can do about it.  If you still don't know or are unclear, you can ask a business law attorney for information on what you can do about the checks.

Good luck, and I'm sorry you're in this situation.

  2. Yes, you can. (Just like the last time you asked!)

If you don't believe us, go to the Texas Workforce Web site and apply. See if they approve you or reject you.

  3. If you've been 'let go' and texas has the 'employment security' most states do, YES

As for bouncing checks.thats up to the lawyers now or the state if the co. knew that the checks were going to be no good they wrote fraud induced paper and are lisble to the state.

If you get paid  it'll only be at the moral standing of your former employer. Typically they'll file bankrupcy, tell you their sorry, there's nothing they can, and take off on their boat to their vacation house.

  4. Go to the unemployment office right away. They can give you all the answers. When I was unemployed, I could get unemployment compensation because my employer had paid into the system. They can check that out at the unemployment office.

  5. Absolutely

  6. yeah

  7. Based upon the laws of your state you will be entitled to unemployment insurance payments if your employer has participated in the program and paid the premiums.  Report bouncing paychecks to the state Attorney General of Texas.
