  1. Being a greencard holder has no relevance at all in Australia.

It all depends on what visa you hold in coming to Australia as to if you can work or not. A visitors visa usually means you can't work here.

  2. It depends on your age.

A working holiday visa for someone aged 18-30 can be obtained in 5 minutes if you're from one of the following countries

    Working Holiday visa (subclass 417)

For people from Belgium, Canada, Republic of Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Republic of Ireland, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Taiwan and United Kingdom.

Work and Holiday visa (subclass 462)

For tertiary educated people from Chile, Thailand, Turkey and the USA to holiday and work in Australia.

Note: Work and Holiday program places for applicants from Chile have been filled until further notice.

If you're older than 30, you must apply for a different visa.

  3. I just want to add that the maximum age for a (skilled) work visa here in Australia is 46.

I know this because my husband was 48 when he came out here from the USA and he was denied a working visa because he was a couple of years too old.

  4. Why do you think a US green card would mean anything in Australia?  Australia is a sovereign nation with its own rules.

  5. being a US greencard holder means bugger all in Australia,it goes by what countries passport you hold

if you are a native from a country that has an arrangement with Australia you can apply for a working holiday visa i you just wanted to come or 12 months

  6. And what could possibly make you think that a USA Greencard is of any relevance to Australia?

Contrary to popular belief... Australia is not the missing 52 state.  Our Government will not recognise your US Greencard as grounds for working in Australia.

If you want to work here, you need to apply to the Australian Government for a Work Visa.

    Good luck.
