Can I get vision contacts at Wal-mart with just the box from my old ones?

My prescription has expired but it never changes, i have the box from my last contacts...can i take those in or do i have to get another exam????

  1. if the prescription is more than a year old you'll need a prescription check.


  2. you can take the box, they will give you new ones with same prescription

  3. Maybe, but you could just go to 1800contacts.com and get them cheaper anyway. This is actually where Wal-Mart orders their contacts from.

  4. nope if your prescription is expired ..then you will need to get a new eye exam...walmart optical shop doesnt just hand out contacts with any old prescription,because what would happen if you got injured or something and it was because walmart gave you contacts from an old prescription...they would be sued of course and the associates would be fired for neglect.its just the same as getting medication with a pharmacy...

  5. another exam, or the written copy of your original unexpired Rx, or a faxed verification from your eye doc.

    but you cant legally buy contacts in the U.S. by just bringing them your old box.
