In my house I have wireless internet. A chord runs through my basement and into a wireless router into my computer. I have a mac laptop and it can get wireless internet since we have our router! Now, I was wondering if I could get internet on a windows 98 if I get a wireless USB adaptor for my windows 98. Would I get internet on my computer (windows 98) if I did this? Thanks

  1. YES. Just make sure that the USB wireless adapter that you purchase has windows 98 drivers.

  2. yes, it will work

  3. YES!!  Windows 98 will work on a wireless system.  The only problem is make SURE that you get the drivers for the USB adapter you buy. XP and VISTA will put in the correct drivers automatically. Windows 98 will detect the device and ask you to install the drivers. The USB adaptor should come with the Windows 98 drivers, just make sure it does or that you can download them from the Internet.

  4. You will have to find a wireless adapter that has drivers for Windows 98.

Best bet is to get a USB wireless adapter, and you probably won't have to worry about wireless drivers, just USB drivers.

  5. Yes yes yes yes you can!!! ♥

Go to overstock and get a wireless network adapter for $19.99. We have 4 of them.  Two are on HP windows 98 machines. They love being wireless.

Netgear and brand X all work great -- they come with DVDs
