Can I give copy of my bank passbook instead of a bank statement to get Indian tourist visa?

When I asked for getting visa they told me to get some documents & a bank statement I have 2 bank accounts so I got bank statment from one bank but not having much money in it they other have good money but I can't get bank statement for it so can I show my passbook and give copy of it to the embassy?

  2. A bank statement carries more weight than a passbook. I wonder why your account with "good money" did not give you bank statements. Get a certification from your bank to support your passbook account. A certification will say when you opened that account, what is the average monthly balance, the balance as of the date of certification, who it belongs to, account number, and signature of authorized officer with contact number on bank letterhead. This is entirely optional on your part but can help.**
