Just as a treat? Would that be okay if it's just a little bit?

  1. NO, NO, NO, NO!  Strawberries are one of the most common allergens out there (unlike other fruits, which can  be started at 6-7 months, strawberries and citrus fruits should wait until after a year)!

There's no need for juice at 4 months and a four month old doesn't even have a concept of the idea of what a treat is.  That said, if you are determined to give your child juice (it's not recommended to give anything but breastmilk or formula until after 6 months), you can try 1 oz. white grape juice diluted with 1 oz. water.

  2. I gave my baby apple juice from Gerber and he threw it up because it was still to strong for him (at 4 months) and those are suppose to be diluted. So I think that making it 50/50 should be fine but make sure it's 100% percent juice.

  3. Sure if you want to give her diabetes.

  4. It's still a little young to be starting with juice.  Babies really don't need "treats".  It's really more important to make sure they are getting the proper nutrition, and when you give them juice, they're belly is getting filled up with that instead of what they really need.  Now as they get older and start eating more solids and finger foods, it's okay to give them juice (100% juice that's watered down) with their meals.  But I wouldn't be in a hurry just yet...

  5. personally i wouldnt. i dont think an infant should have sugar that early. i have given my son fruit flavoured water a few times but he was almost 7 months... other than that he has water or formula. he loves his water... likes it more than he liked the flavoured water!

  6. I would wait on that because of the strawberries, but I do think apple juice is absolutly fine!

  7. I was told that babies shouldnt have juice till after 6 months. and I would either stick with apple or pear personally. She maybe allergic to strawberries. But just ask your Dr, local nurse.

  8. Why give your baby sugar so young? Wait off until hes at least a year. Give him water instead because strawberries can cause allergies if given at an early age.

  9. not unless ur doc oks it, but i wouldnt just bc of the sugar, but that is just me...

  10. For one thing babies don't need juice or solid food till they are about 6 months old.  Good doctors will tell you that when babies begin drinking juice that apple is one of the worst due to the high sugar content.  Orange juice is one of the only juices out there that has so many good qualities in it that it's ok to give to babies.

If you do happen to feel the need to give your 4 month old juice I would make it a quarter juice and three quarters water.

  11. Some babies are super allergic to strawberries, I wouldn't do it.  I might give a little watered down apple juice or even koolaid or tea but no strawberries.  Babies don't need treats even though we want to do it.

  12. Hold off on anything w/ strawberries. It could cause an allergic reaction.

  13. Try a little and wait a few hours to see what it does to his/her bowels. If it gives them diarrhea, then you know to wait a couple more months.

  14. No its not ok, children do not need juice that young. Its got extra sugars that coat the teeting gums and as it won't get washed off unless the gums are brushed or from water. Wait the 2 extra months to give your little one juice. And keep in mind never give in a bottle. try a sippy cup.  When you do give your child juice make sure its 1/4 juice to 3 parts water so  the acidity isnt harming their tummies. And I just going by what I was told when my girls where that age. To much juice can lead to obese children this one report says by Vincent Iannelli, M.D., and Ive included the link below. If you want to give them something fruit, make it fresh fruit, in small fine dice they can easily take from a baby spoon if they started some solids. If not wait til they are. If you want to give something other then formula give a bit of water. helps clean out their mouth from the formula and rinses the mouth while hydrating them.
