  1. sure!  she may not roll but a least some of her body will get in it!

EDIT: im sry, did you say dust? dust isnt good why dont you use wipes or sand! dust can give them respiatory problems!

    good luck! ♥♥

  2. I wouldn't recommend the dust, because rats have very sensitive respiratory symptoms. I haven't had any direct experience with it, but it seems like a bit of a risk.  However, if you have chinchilla sand you can try that. Some rats even enjoy being bathed in water, or wiped down with a wet cloth!

  3. No...just, no.

Rats have VERY sensitive respiratory systems and exposing him to a concentrated area of dust may in fact have fatal results. I do not recommend it. At all.

Chinchillas roll in dust to maintain a healthy, clean coat. The dust penetrates their thick fur and unlocks dirt and matts. There is no reason for a rat to maintain his coat in this way, as it is short and thin.

If you're looking to give your rat some fun and adventure, try buying some PVC piping for him to explore in. Buy him some toys to occupy his time. Did you know that rats are especially fond of hammocks for lounging/sleeping? Hammocks are not just for ferrets! (on a side note, Chinchillas also enjoy hammocks).

Last but not least, consider making a 'dig box' for your rat. Find a plastic container (or something similar) and fill it with dirt. Sprinkle bird seed on the dirt and water. Wait a couple of days and grass will sprout. Place rats in box and watch as their eyes light up. Your rat will LOVE this activity, and it's completely rat-safe, too!

    Hope this helps,
