  1. If you have a current FM3 (this is a green booklet that looks very similar to a passport), then you can enter and leave Mexico at any time.

If you have a 90 day tourist visa, you must leave within that 90-day period and relinquish the tourist visa upon departure from Mexico.

Whether you did or did not do that after your last visit, your next visit (unless you do indeed have a valid FM3) would be on a tourist visa which would be granted upon your arrival.

Please note: it is against Mexican law to have two concurrent visas of any type!  If you have an FM3, you MUST enter and leave the country using it.

  2. I am very confused. Rino is correct, your tourist FMT visa can be turned in at a Mexican Embasy if you didn't turn it in at the border and renewed for 180 days. The FM3 is the visa for people who are living long term in Mexico and they don't expire after 3 months.

  3. Are you in Mexico now or back in your country?  If you're from the US, and now back in the US, you should have turned in your tourist visa  (FM-T, also called a Tourist Card) when you left.  If you did and have spent one day back in the US, you can get a new tourist visa when you enter Mexico again.  If you ask, you can get the up to 180 days on the Tourist Card.
