I just commissioned as a 2LT in July in the Army Reserves with the GRFD scholarship. However, I am now regretting going Reserves and want to go Active Duty once I finish BOLC 2 and 3. My BC spoke to me this morning and mentioned that the Army is looking for Active Duty officers and that it might be a possibilility and I have heard of people going Active Duty from the Reserves, however with me taking the GRFD I think I just made this an impossible move. Is this based on the needs of the Army, and is there anyway, besides unit activation, of me going Active Duty

  1. It should not be hard to activate, all you have to do is submit an administrative action form and send it up your chain of command. Good luck!

  2. I believe you have to talk to your commander and they'll have to release you to the active component.
