My dad keeps telling me that I can go through FasTrak because my car is under my parents account and that they look at the license plate deduct from there. He said it shouldn't be a problem because I across the bridge once a week. Is he right?

  1. I think that your Dad is pushing the envelope on this one.  The MTC says that FasTrak® transponders may be moved between vehicles (which y'all are not doing).  But, you must provide MTC with the license plate number, state, make and model of the primary vehicle for your FasTrak transponder. They recommend that you sign up for a FasTrak transponder for each vehicle that you drive on a regular basis as a FasTrak customer.  According to the San Francisco Chronicle, "Violators, whose license plates are photographed by cameras, now receive bills in the mail, assessing a $25 fine plus the toll owed. If the bill is not paid, the fine increases to $70 plus the toll. If that is ignored, a hold is placed on the owner's car registration until it's paid."  It would be cheaper to just get a FasTrak for your car too.
