Can I go to Just the Turtle Farm on Grand Caymen?

Im visiting there on a cruise next week and I was just cerious if i could avoid purchasing a Shore Excursion and just go exclusivly to the Turtle farm once get on the island?

Just get off the ship and ask a taxi how much to take your party to the turtle farm, wait for you and return you to the pier.  It shouldn't be difficult.

When you get off the ship there will be people with signs asking you if you want to go on a tour.  ( You can also take a taxi) You can book these cheaper but make sure you ask them how long is the tour and what time will you get back. Make sure you have ship time and island time figured out too.  When you go out on your own the ship will not wait for you if there is any kind of break down.  Also make sure you get the name of the port that you come in at.  Grand Cayman has a couple of areas now where you come ashore.  Also something I learned the last time I cruised was to bring the ships phone number with you ashore just in case.   Grand Cayman is nice you will like it.  We did the Stingray tour and it was really nice.
