Will I be able to take MCAT test?

If I major in Chemical Engineering, or Biochemical Engineering, or Biomedical Engineering, then Will I able to take MCAT? Does medical school care about the student major, while enrolling?

Will I be able to go to the Medical School? In order for me to go there, I need this test, and what else? Thank you so much.

  1. To become a doctor is a long process ,

first you need either biology or nursing school,

then you go into the long process of becoming a doctor, then if you want to specialize you can..

SO YES! YOU CAN BECOME A DOCTOR!

    Good Luck!

  2. No, not really they definitely care about grades though. Do what you want to do and what you would enjoy for the next four years. Get great grades. You University will help you with the steps for med school.

    Good luck

  4. Yes, you can take the MCAT.  But you need to have taken the pre-med courses to apply to most medical school (and to have a shot at passing the MCATs), even if you didn't major in anything related - and you need a high GPA (> 3.5).

  5. Contact the medical school of your choice and ask them.

Usually they don't care about your major as long as you take a certain list of required courses and get really good grades.

  6. I have been reading alot of comments saying medical schools really don't care what students major in. Although I don't think thats is all the way true, ofcourse they care what you major in... just as much as they care what your grades are. Although I would recommand you to major in something of your interest.... while taking the right classes. I planon attending medical school in the future as well, after I get done with my undergrad and I wouldn't major under anything engineering.... but that's just me.

  7. take biomedical engineering...this will prepare you for med school. some colleges offer a biomed eng. program with a pre medical track. Med -schools really don't care what a student major in.
