Can I grow dandelions in a pot?

  1. Yes, plenty of my plant pots have dandelions growing there which have seeded into the pots.


  2. Why not? That is the good idea!

  3. They grow almost anywhere. Just shake a seed flower head at the fluffy stage over some soil and you will not be able to get rid of them. They grow in flower pots where they are not supposed to be.

  4. You can.  Very easily.  All you need is the heads of a couple dandelion flowers (when they are all white and dried and ready to blow away).  They will grow quickly and require very little care.

    Also note... you are not going to be very popular with your neighbors if you start purposely growing dandelions outdoors.  The seeds are numerous and transport via the wind.... so your neighbor who takes pride in his/her nice, green, weedless lawn will soon have to deal with clouds of dandelion seeds blowing off of your window sill and creating short-lived, unattractive, little yellow flowers in their yard.
