I'm 5'11-6'0 in height, I weigh 165lbs., the board specs are 5'11''x 18''x 2.1''. I'm worried it could be too small, but I think I could handle it. Others thoughts?

  1. If you already bought it, like the above poster stated, try it out. If you are still looking, and a beginner, it may be difficult to learn on. You're right, with your weight, you can handle it. And it's thick enough to float you. Just be patient with yourself starting out. If you're learning, 3 more inches in length would help you out a lot.

  2. if you are new to surfing and are learning on the baord then it will be very hard but you will be able to handle it with time, experience, and practice. it will probably be thick enough for your weight thoug which is a good thing

  3. Go a little wider and fatter.

  4. It all depends on whether you are new to the sport or not. My guess is that you are not and that its probably your first short board, if so than maybe something a bit wider and thicker would be best.

  5. put it in the water and find out !

  6. For a regular 5 11 you'll be fine but you are going to have to paddle a lot harder and get into the waves later. The firewire boards are pretty thin so if i were you i would get a 6 0 or 6 1. This guy i know normally rides a 5 9 but when he got a firewire he got a 6 0 and he said it was about the same
