Can I hatch dove eggs in cotton on a warm sunny window seal?

  1. No. Eggs need a place that would be warm enough all day. If your going to attempt to hatch dove eggs, i would get an incubater. Here's a helpful link:

  2. I agree with owlmaster (and what a relevant user name!).

    Incubators are available at bird stores. They aren't super-expensive (we had one in our jr. high science classroom for hatching chickens).

    What's really important is that you also know how to take care of the baby bird after it's born. The people at the bird store can help teach you what to do. We raised an abandoned baby bluejay, and you have to feed them special bird food paste (remember, their parents eat insects/worms and then regurgitate them for their babies), and stimulate them to p**p right after (and they p**p a lot). They have to be kept warm all the time, and eventually they will start to fly (adorable!).

    I'm sure the bird store can recommend some good books on raising doves. It's certainly not uncommon.
