Can I haul a double axle trailer with 9000lbs of equipment with a 93 k2500 suburban?

IM gettin ready to rent a 9000lbs track hoe this weekend. im borrowing a buddys 1993 k2500 suburban with one tun axles, a 350sbc and a 4L80e trans. It has a class E? or 5 full frame hitch. Is this safe? Need to know asap please. Thank you

  1. Hook 'er up and go.

    make sure you load the backhoe just ahead of center on the trailer, putting just a bit of weight on the hitch, it'll pull better.

    PLEASE make sure you use DOT approved chains and binders to secure the load. I'd rather talk TO ya than ABOUT ya.

    I have an '83 GMC K2500 with a 350 and a Turbo 400 and I pull trailers from around the farm all summer.


  2. you're fine. just be sure the engine doesnt overheat. i didnt keep an eye on my thermostat when i was towing a bobcat on a flatbed. w/ my f150 mounted on the bumper. and my engine overheated :( oops. just keep an eye on that and you should be fine. check lights on the trailer
