Can I have H1 while working on L1 ?

Currently I am working on L1 visa and I want to apply for H1 Visa. Do I need to leave my job once I will get my H1 ?

Can I have both VISA's and continue working on L1 till I dont get other job on H1. ?

Friend,

You can apply for H1 visa while you are working on L1. However, you can not start working on H1 visa without leaving the job on L1.

Note: For H1B, first you need to have a job and employer only can file your H1B. Same with L1, as soon as you leave the job on L1, your L1 visa will not be valid.

In this case, you can find a employer who can file for your H1 and then once you get H1B, you can start working with H1B company and leave job on L1.

You can't apply for an H1 visa.  Only an employer can apply for an H1 visa.
