  1. The two answers before mine are both good.  Chances are your children will be just fine and beautiful.  Don't deny creating a life on what might and probably won't happen.  Good Luck!

  2. it has nothing to do with your sister.

your parents passed along the genes and the genes happen to come out in her.

if you have no signs or symptoms i don't think you would pass the disorder on to your children especially not with your reasoning about your sister having it so maybe your children would have it.

now if your sister had a baby she could pass it along to them but there is no correlation between your sister and your children.

  3. its hard to know ahead of time....we never know what genes we are getting and sharing with our kids....but you shouldn't stop having kids because of this fear....even if you adopt you dont know if that child can get a mental illness

  4. The chances of your kids getting it is low, but that doesnt mean it cant happen.  Just keep in mind that their are ways of dealing with that, and whatever happens, happens.

  5. There is a small chance.....but not enough for you to not have children.I have bipolar disorder and I have two children, my risk is higher. It could be heart disease, diabetes, or cancer. Life is a risk. I would have children, I mean it`s not cystic fibrorisis, or PKU.
