  1. No.  Never have more than one Anti-virus installed.  They will interfer with each other.

  2. You can't "just uninstall" Norton.  No, you have to go to Norton's website www.symantec.com and find the norton removal tool for your version of Norton.  Your version you have is on the box or in the help link on your norton interface screen that comes up when you click on the icon to make changes.  You intall the removal tool and it will remove norton.  Just trying to uninstall norton from Add/Remove Programs in Windows  Control Panel will not get all of it.

Once you've used removal tool, you can then install other programs.  You cannot have two anti-virus programs at once.  The one that is installed first will prevent the other from being installed.

  3. yes i can help you

    delete norton completely

install the free trial of kaspersky internet security 7

when downloaded click on install program with default settings.

you will have to restart the computer in order for the program to have all the features available.

once the computer is restarted a new icon will appear saying ''k''

    right click on this

    click on settings.

    now click on scan

the security level should be recommended

now on where it says action select do not prmpt for action

place a checkmark to disinfect and delete if disinfection fails

now below that it will say apply this to all virus tasks click on it

now click on startup objects on the left hand corner

where it says run mode it should say application startup and have a checkmark next to it

    uncheck this

now click on apply and click ok

    there you go.hope this helped.

  4. Well......you are in luck....in a way. You don't have to keep Norton if you don't want it.

Simply uninstall it. Although it would be a waste of money...( If you bought subscription. )

After it is uninstalled, you can install any other anti-virus you want, or go back to Norton...which ever.

    NOTE:

It is not recommended to have 2 anti-virus scanning programs installed at once, as they may interfere with each other.

  5. You can have more than one anti-virus, but it can cause problems when they both try to work on the same file at the same time.  It can cause severe computer slowdowns.

If you paid for Norton, I'd say stick with it for the duration of your subscription if you can.  If that pains you too much, download either of these free anti-virus packages: avast antivirus www.avast.com or avg www.avg.com to your computer, then uninstall Norton.  As soon as your computer reboots, install the new one.

  6. Normally a PC won't allow more than one AntiVirus.  It will take more than one firewall, or antispyware software, but normally only one antivirus.

Might download AVG antivirus, disconnect from the internet and uninstall Norton, and then install AVG. It'll want to attach to the mothership to download updates and all...

  7. yes, you can have two,or uninstall Norton and add the newer one. Just do it carefully, so that your computer is not without some securtiy measures.
