I already know not to have males together. I'm asking about Females. It's the males that are aggressive towards each other.

  1. As long as you put them all in at the same time then yes they can be kept together. they will fight a bit to establish a pecking order and then after that you shouldn'tt have any problems.shouldn'tnt. Make sure you don't crownd your tank.

  2. Its best not to put any bettas together

  3. You should be able to keep 4-5 females in a 10 gallon tank.  With good filtration, maybe a couple more.

  4. if you want dead fish!! they'll kill each other, they are fighter fish!!

  5. Yes you can keep the females together but not the males. The males just fight with eachother not the females.

  6. no! thats a big no no. they will kill each other. and make sure that you never stick any other fish you want in there either he'll die also. also make sure you dont stick your fingers in there either if the betta fish shes it she'll bight

  7. Yes you can... actually I have 10 female betta fish in my tank and 3 males (separate tank each) for every one male you will need 3 females they are usually very picky when it comes to mating... Although be warn that like any other living thing they have free will and personalities... So not all females will get along just great I have had 1 out of 10 that will never get along with any other female she starts to attack them... But females can be put in a tank all together as well as you can mix them up with any other community fish..

  8. It's the male betta fish that fight.  Even the stores keep the female betta's together in tanks.

  9. yes. my lucky numbers were 5-6 in a ten gallon

provide plenty of hiding spots, and watch for any bullying because even though the females will get a pecking order developed, they are still bettas and some may not like the company of even other girls

    good luck =)

  10. yes u can get 5 females that wat i had in my 10gaL but make sure they all the same size

one of mine was bigger then the rest and it pucked everyone else

and add 2 otto cats to clean the tank

or a real good filtor they p**p alot

  11. Yes, you can.  But you have to have 3 or more so they establish their hierchy..I have a 5 gallon tank with 5 females and another 5 gallon with 4 females.  They may fight a bit the first little while until they establish who is who, but mine are all fine and I have had them like that for months.  But never put males together, they will kill each other.  I have heard of cases where some females are just very agressive and have to be alone.  This hasn't happened to me, but I would just keep an eye out the first few days that you have them together for any really agressive fish.  Hope that helps!   Oh and lots of plants and ornaments where they can hide helps also!!!!

  12. NO!

Betta fish are called Siamese Fighter fish FOR A REASON!!!!!!

No more than one fish can be put in the same tank unless you have a divider. Sometimes even a divider doesn't work.

  13. YES, you can.  It's common practice among betta breeders, actually-- so common that there's a name for it (sorority tank) but it needs to be done correctly and carefully.

This is a good place to start: http://www.ultimatebettas.com/index.php?...

Hiding places, tank size and the amount of females (to allow a "pecking order") are very important to consider.

  14. yes, you can. male bettas fight, but females will not so long as:

they have a suitably sized tank with a heater, filter, etc

they are in a 4+ group

they are about the same size

they are all added at the same time

male bettas really aren't aggressive either-they only fight each other/gouramis, paradise fish (close relatives), and guppies (colorful, long tail resembles that of another betta)

  15. no no no no no no! Beta fish are fighter fish. If you put them in the same tank, than your gonna have a fish brawl here.....no no no

Your gonna need seperate tanks for them.....
