Can I have s*x after egg retrieval and before embryo transfer?

Question

I am 2 days post retrieval and am aiming for a day 5 transfer. Can we have s*x? I know I'm not supposed to after transfer, so I want to get it out of my system!

it should be ok, otherwise the doc. would have mentioned it, but it's best to double check to be safe :) you can also ask a doctor (an RE) online for free for advice and find others giong through IVF as well, try this website, FertilityTies

My RE said no intercourse after the egg retrieval and egg transfer . . . you want to avoid uterine contractions that could have a negative impact on your IVF cycle.

You also do not want to risk fertilizing an egg (or more) that they may not have retrieved when in the midst of the IVF process.
