Seriously, if it is considered a sacred place it is disrespectful. Depending on the place there may be severe and strong consequences if caught. In an excavation there are many eyes watching to be the first ones to find the next Pyramid of Giza. It is very risky, why go trough the trouble of being caught? Your friend will find it utterly embarrasing and you may end up in "Archeologist Gone Wild" in youtube.
