I am training a new employee and I need to listen to him on the phone, I need a solution that means he can hold the handset but also means I can listen in to what the other person is saying. I dont want to use the loud speaker facility but listen in. What is the term for this technology or is there a product you can show me to solve this problem?

  1. You can call him and have a three way conversation on another line, or if you have another phone hooke dup to the same line he can listen in on that phone.

  2. on most modern switchboards there is a facility for 3 way conversations

  3. There is the 3 way phone system, where in you could have a conversation with 2 people at the same time. If the other person has a 3 way ps too then you can talk to 3 people at the same time, which makes 4 including you. by adding more people with the same type of system you can have a conversation with so many people. The down side if this is that the other people can hear every single word you are saying to the other person. I dunno if this is the type of phone system you like but there's always call waiting for privacy.

  4. You'll be looking at a conference call...

Hope this helps.. Read the manual and hunt for the word 'conference' in it...

  5. Yes, there are ways to splice in a 2nd handset with the mouth speaker disabled.  If you are using the kind of phone system that uses headsets, they make something for this as well.  I know they can be home made fairly easily, but I am sure any Radio Shack would have the device you need.

  6. 3way call or conference call. the 3 of you can speak to each other

  7. go for those phone systems that support conference call or 3rd party call, then you can mute your part.

  8. Check the features section of your phone book, it's called conference calling, most phone companies have it.

  9. What you are looking for is "call monitoring" and recording/logging software, usually used by call centres.

But of course, the cheap easy solution is to use an extension phone with "mute" button enabled, or 3-way call.

  10. conference calls? speaker phone?
