I met an amazing girl in Bolivia and I'm wondering if there is anything I can do to help her get a United States tourist visa so she can come visit me. I'm a US citizen.

  1. Apply an I-129F visa for her, but first have her as your fiance:

  2. K1 fiance visa if you plan to bring her here to marry. You have to prove at least a 2 year relationship. You need airline ticket stubs where you have traveled to visit her and other documentation.

If you just met over the Internet, that won't cut it with immigration

  3. If she can afford to finance herself, she should not have any problem getting a tourist visa. she will have to prove that she is gainfully employed in Bolivia, that she has a job to return to,(offical letter from employer) and can show she has sufficient money to cover all her expenses while in the US.(bank account copies)

If she does not have that, you can sponsor her for a tourist visa. To do that you would first have to write her a letter of invitation, stating in it what financial support you will provide, and where she can stay. She will submit that letter with her visa application. Then you will have to supply proof that you have the funds to give her the support you have told her. The proof must be by submitting bank statements from the present, going back for several months. (that is to stop peple paying a lump sum into someone's bank just to get someone in the country, then get the money back, and put the 'visitor' to work illegally. If you are offering accommodation, you will have to prove that you either own or rent suitable accommodation with space for her, by providing a copy of a title deed or mortgage, or a copy of a rental agreement. If she was to stay somewhere else, for example with your relative, you would then have to send her a copy of an appropriate document for the relative's place. If she will be staying in a hotel, that would need to be supported by a copy of a firm booking at the hotel.

It sounds complicated, but it is just routine.

You can check exactly what is required by downloading the visa application form and its guidelines from the government website, or better still, from the US Embassy website in Bolivia,  You could then see exactly what she is being asked(there is some variation from country to country), and you could then fill in some of it,and post to her the the form the letter, and the document copies you have prepared.

On the embassy website it will probably you somewhere, how long it is taking to issue a visa.

    That's it.Good luck!
