  1. I think it will be close to impossible for you to rent a car, considering you only have your licence 4 months and are under 25. Also, I do fully agree with David from the Canary Island: I live in Catalonia and only yesterday drove back from Alicante back home (a 500 km trip). Even though I live here and I am used to drive long trips, it was utterly horrendous. The Spanish at the best of times are pretty awful drivers and now the roads are full with lots of tourists, either very tired after a long trip or simply not used to driving here. Every day I see so many near accidents, wrecked cars and ambulances, it's awful. You might be a reasonable driver, but you have little experience and Spanish drivers are a lot harder to predict. So please think again and if you do manage to rent a car: be very, VERY careful....

  2. Should be no problem. I recommend

    Cheapest rates!!!

    Have a super vacation!!

  3. To drive in Spain you need a photo licence and the printed paper bit too.

Don't know about the hire companies rules but insurance may be the problem for them.  I am sure that you have already found that insurance for under 25 is more expensive.

Some things to think of though.  You have not yet got much experience driving on the left and now you want to drive on the right were even very experienced drivers make mistakes!

The roads on the mediteranian side have some of the highest death and injury figures in europe!

Also Spain has just brought in it'sown points system and the fines are huge!!

I live in the Canary Islands and believe me the Spanish drivers are horrendous!

I would suggest that with your experience to date you think long and hard about this.  Particularly if you are taking loved ones with you.

Please do not be discouraged by this advice.  Experience by definition takes a while to get.  A wise headlives longer and enjoys more.

What ever you decide to do.  Be safe.

  4. no you haven't had your licence long enough to hire a car. have a look at the car hire companies online to see if they can make an exception. it may be possible if you pay for extra insurance. for some you have to be 25 too. you may be able to book one through a uk travel agent if you buy your tickets..worth finding out.

  5. As long as you have a full clean licence and a credit card in your own name to swipe when you get there. Try Holiday Autos
