Its called citizen's arrest, not hostage.  And yes, provided you know your rights, as well as the rights of the person you've arrested.

This type of thing and others will become abundant if something is not done about illegals very soon. I see pro-illegals posting on here saying, "oh what you gonna do about illegals they are here to stay viva mexico"

Then I hear Americans that are fed up and thinking of other ways to rid of the illegals if the government does not step up. I don't put it past them, especially the Texans :)

Illegal immigration isn't a felony.  And you didn't witness it.
