On the back of the kenwood home stereo there is a plugin for subwoofer? If i get the right plug can i just plug in the kicker or what would i need to do?

  1. Won't matter anyway since the small speakers that come with the stereo have no hope of being as loud as the sub.

  2. I don't see why not, if your stereo is powerful enough to power the sub.  A friend of mine has two Sony xplode 8" subs hooked to his computer and they work fine.  But I would look into buying a powered sub designed for home use, it would most likely sound a lot better.

  3. No.

You would need a external amp, power supply,etc... to make it work. With mediocre results!

Your best bet is to leave the car audio in the car. You can get a powered sub very cheaply to connect to that system.

  4. go with adouglas91 she seems to know her stuff and i wouldnt agree anythe less.!

  5. i dunno if you can you may need an ac to dc inverter and you may wanna run it off of the amplifier

  6. I assume you have an enclosure for this "woofer" as that would be needed either way.  My concern is power.  You may or may not know that home subwoofers are generally always powered by an AC outlet.  Furthermore, Impedance (ohms) is an issue as well. Make sure as this could damage the speaker or stereo system.  Occasionally stereo manfactuers list a range that is acceptable, however generally home audio systems run at 8 ohms and car audio is measured at 4 ohms.  If you had two Subs you could bridge it to overcome this obstical but you would need 2 speaker outputs and 2 speaker inputs for this.
