Can I hookup cold water to a washer (washing machine) that has one hook up (hot water) only?

This was the cheapest machine the store had (Roper brand).

  1. No problem, yes.


  2. Yes , we run our washer on only cold water and have no problems. Don't even really have a problem getting stains out using just the cold water.

I have never seen a washer with only a hot water valve only since all washers use cold water to rinse the clothes.I know the model you are talking about and the timer picks the water temp since this machine has no water temp k**b. There will still be two places on the back of the machine to hook up two fill hoses. You will need to hook up both hoses or the machine will not work. You can go to a appliance store and buy a fill hose with two ends on one hose to save on hot water if you want.  

  4. Yes, you just won't get any hot water for washing.
