Question:

Can I hurt myself seriously?

My new method of self injury (no lectures please) is pushing needles into my arms and thigh. Anyway, sometimes it feels weird, like I am pushing on a nerve or something. Is it possible that I could be causing permanent damage or something?

  1. Needle punctures are bad for your body.  I stepped on a needle once and it went into my foot about a half inch, and it left a scar.  They hurt a lot a lot a LOT, so I am surprised that you can tolerate doing that sort of thing to yourself!  I won't give you "the lecture." I think that what you are doing is not how you should handle yourself, but I cannot stop you.

    Anyways...

It depends on how far you're putting the needles into yourself.  Doctors may do so when giving shots, but they are putting the needle into a vein and not very deep.

Poking needles into yourself with no experience can cause nerve damage.  Poke the wrong spot, and you could kill a nerve or cause very annoying pain in that spot for days.  You will also probably burst a blood vein, which causes ugly bruising with a prominent red spot in the center. (I once got a shot in the wrong location and I had a painful and large bruise for weeks along with a nice little red splot in the center.)  Secondly, the needles could be letting germs into your system - which could cause you to get sick.  And thirdly, they may leave pin-sized scars that you will regret in the future.

I hope that you will take my advice and stop!  There are much safer ways to handle any hurt on the inside, such as:

    1. Tearing apart a phone book.  Stab it.  Burn it. (do that outside) Rip it.  Scream at it.  (It really works)

    2. Clenching your fists and screaming at the top of your lungs, letting all your feelings out - conclude with deep breathing and slowly opening your fist

    3. Buying a cardboard box, styrofoam cube, or even a pillow, and stabbing it with a pen.  (But only use the pen on the object, not yourself)

These are not part of a lecture at all.  There are merely suggestions that won't leave you with severe ouchies!

  2. ok this is your thurd questoin about this dont you get it dont do it ok please just dont

  3. Well  there no need to preach so I'll move on...

Describe this "weird feeling".  If its a numbness, tingling, sharp or stabbing pain, chances are likely you you are hitting something (nerve or blood vessel).

Anything else, update so I can get a better idea.

Meanwhile, I would stop sticking myself until I know what that feeling was.
