Can I improve my 1500m time from 4:15 to 4:00 by next year?

Keeping in mind that I am taking 4 weeks off soon due to a jaw sergery, and I live in ontario and can do absolutely no track training until the snow melts as we have no indoor track. I'll just be able to do distance running, and some harsh school hallway training in January.

Is it reasonable to think I'll be able to do it by next year? Last year I ran a 4:45, and then this year I improved to a huge PB of 4:15 for me. It took a LOT of training ... I'm not really a natural runner at all.

However, I really want to run a 4:00. So, I'm just wondering if I will be able to do it?

  1. u can do anything if u put ur mind to it :D good luck

  2. the difference between 4:15 and 4 flat for 1500 are like night and day...If you put in the training required and not slack off basically at all the next year then you should be around 4:15 or so for the 1600.  Keep in mind you should be running easy miles now and if there is a huge amounts of snow then maybe you should like you said run in hallways or a treadmill will work.
