  1. Yes, you can install Leopard on many laptops.  Make sure your hardware is tested and proven compatible.  There is a wiki page that lists tested hardware.

Look for hackintosh wiki in google and you'll find it.  Not for the novice skilled user.

Download the "kalway"  torrent and burn the DVD.

You can even do a dual-boot windows/leopard machine.

    Check this website for instructions:

    http://lifehacker.com/348653/install-os-...

It has been proven that you can build a PC for under $800 that outperforms a $2000  mac and runs leopard

  2. Not legally.

Mac OS X can only be installed on Mac hardware - doing anything else breaks the EULA with Apple and therefore illegal and unsupported.

You can however put Windows on a Mac with Bootcamp, VMware or Parallels.

Why would you want to put OS X on a crappy PC anyway?

If you were using OS X you wouldn't need a finger print scanner - if you did Apple would have already put one on the MacBook and MacBook Pro.

  3. You can, but it will be tricky. See the source for step by step instructions.

Many of your hardware features won't work, so be aware of that. Your finger print reader likely won't work, webcam, possibly even then laptop keyboard and trackpad.

I think it is much more trouble than it is worth, but yes, it is possible. As Jeff said, it is definitely not for the novice user.

  4. To answer your question about osx on pc-YES. It's possible, but its illegal. Apple allows osx only to be installed on their hardware. There are many hackers who have hacked into osx and made it possible for pc to install it. This is called Project osx86.

HOWEVER, THIS PROJECT IS DEEPLY FLAWED. There are so much drivers that are incompatible. I personally tried to install it on my Hewlett-Packard pc, but failed-20 times with like 12 different disks hacked by diff people. I corrupted my vista bootloader so many times, a few times I thought I would have to recover and lose all my information. Its just not worth it. I've tired every possible combination, but it would freeze, my keyboard/mouse wouldnt work, I'd get multiple errors, it wouldn't boot, it wouldn't install. This is not just me, hundreds of people are having these issues. I recommend you save yourself the trouble and stick with Vista.

Chances are, if you attempt to install osx on your laptop, you wont be able to use your touchpad/keyboard-let alone your fingerprint reader/scanner.

Vista isn't as bad as people say it is. Its great if your pc can handle it. Looking at your specs, your computer will be really fast. I even went back to xp a few days ago, but I hated it so much. Its an aging operating system, soon to be outdated. When I went back to Vista, I couldn't believe how much I liked it. There are some minor bugs-still but almost all compatibility issues have been fixed, but you will find a way to fix these bugs.

My thoughts: STICK WITH VISTA. ITS A GREAT OS.
