Can I install Ubuntu by mounting the ISO file?

Question

I want to install Ubuntu without the need to use any CD's, however, if needed; i will accept answers that include having to use a flash drive/ pen drive/ thumb drive/ USB drive/ whatever you may call it.

Well the ISO I think gives you an option to install it from the ISO.

I personally never use the ISO's. When I go to download Ubuntu, I always click alternative install. That way I don't have to do anything except burn it to a CD, then pop it in, the install screen comes up, goes through directions/questions, then installs.
