Can I install a phone socket, but not in the wall?

I am in rented accomodation and want to get a virgin package; phone, broadband, tv. There is a hole in the wall for sky already. Will they be able to feed the cable/phone through, and give me a socket that is not attached to the wall (in a box maybe)?

I dont want to damage the property.

Cheers :)

  1. they will paste it (the socket box) on the wall with a sticker which sticks to it so long you dont pull it hard.

  2. There are all kinds of "sockets" available and their installer will have an option. There are baseboard sockets that fasten on the wall trim at the floor, that just use double-sided tape to fasten them, for example.
