I have a 2006 Toyota Camry, 2.4L engine, 4 cylinder, Automatic transmission. Can I install a turbo system on my car?

If so, what specification should I go for?

Thank you

  1. Yes you can, but I seriously do not recommend it. The camry is a perfectly good car as is. If you want a racecar, build one. Which means a manual transmission.

  2. u can put a turbo on almost anything

turbo is worthless if u wana go fast and dont drive manual

  3. There are turbo kits available for various Toyota products from various companies but interesting enough, your 2,4 4 cylinder is the same basis for the Scion tC  and I have read that there is a dealer option for a factory turbo.  I suspect that the aftermarkets will be more powerful. as Toyota has always been conservative to insure its reliability, but I would suspect that only a few mods would be needed to put this unit on your engine- in theory, you should have more room to work with on your larger car.

  4. You could, but why?  Trading to a V6 Camry would be cheaper and offer similar power with greater reliability and mileage.  The suspension and brakes are already there to handle the power too.
