What tools would I need? Or is it better left to professional.

  1. A screwdriver.  That's it.  All you have to do is stand on your board with your feet about as wide as they usually are, and mark the width.  Then grab your bindings, set the angles on the baseplates and s***w them onto your board.  If this is your first pair, you could try 12 in the front, and -5 in the back.  If not, you should know what you like riding.  I think that's where most rentals are set.  Then again, angles also depend on what kind of riding you do, and how comfortable they feel.

If all of this is too confusing, just get the shop person do it.  It's worth the experience though if you intend on snowboarding for a long time.

  2. sure you can! but if you have no idea what you're doing, its better to get someone at a board shop how to show you first.

  3. Dear nuts and bolts and binders,

I would take it to a shop, but, when you take it to the shop, ask them to show you how to do it dont just have them do it for you and then leave.  Then ask them if they would help you with getting the best stance, one that is most comfortable to you, in the store (you need ur boots for this one).

You probably don't want to do it yourself until you learn about what the angles on your binders are for and why, something they should be glad to help you do if they are a cool shop.  Go to a real snowboard shop though, dont go to a huge massive chain cause chances are they cant really give you too much insight on the why and how of your binders.

How you have your stance and angles set up can make or break your day, once you have the shop show you how, I would suggest buying a snowboard tool and then playing with your stance until it is super comfortable. I did this for about three months before I got mine just perfect, but once you know it...your golden forever, anytime you buy new binders or board you will know exactly what angles you want and how far apart so on and so forth.

This can be boring and seemingly dumb to take off your binders on the hill but once you get dialed in and you are feelin good...yeah, its nice to be feelin good :)  Happy Tracks :)

  4. My initial thought is that if you need to wonder if you can do it, you probably shouldn't.

  5. it is better for you to install them because if it is your first time you will have to keep adjusting them intill you find a stance you like and you will only need a star s***w driver.it not worth spending the extra 10 to 15 dollars

  6. Take it to a shop or find a pro. Someone who can show you the ropes.  Safety first and a little muscle. Have fun!!!

  7. Anybody can, and all you need is a screwdriver, or take it to your snowboard shop.

  8. Best bet is to have a shop do the initial set up and you can see what they do.  You need to have the stance set up right.  Also if you aren't the best with tools you could hammer up the board or bindings.
