My daughter's car is in my name and on my insurance. She just moved out of state temporarily, does that make any difference or can I still insure the car?

  1. How "temporary" is this move?  If it's for a few months then you'll probably be ok.  If it's indefinate or longer than a few months your insurance company would probably rather see you sign the car over to her and let her get it insured and registered in the state she will be in.  This is especially true if the child is over 18 working.  It's in your best interest to get kids off your insurance as soon as possible.  Any accidents they have jeopardize your insurance and all your assets if your insuance limits are not high enough to pay a settlement against you.

  2. I'm not an expert on this, but I would suggest you take a tour here, there are expert's tips over there.http://car-insurance.easyideas4u.info/ca...

  3. You can still insure it for a short time. Your daughter should be aware that if the move is not for college or military, she may be stopped by police. Should she go to work in another State, they can require her to get a new license, plates and insurance. Some States allow 30 days while others (Florida for one) require you change as soon as you become employed.
