I just bought a new backpack, but it is sort of plain. I want to iron on letters of my name, but I am worried that it will ruin my backpack. Here is a link to the backpack...

  1. Take it to somewhere like Michael's or Joanne's which sell decorations.

Someone there should be able to help you with the directions.

Typically, you put them in place, cover with a damp cloth & iron.

Do not use a hot iron if the bag is synthetic plastic fibre.

  2. You might not be happy with the results of using iron on applications. Although it doesn't give a fiber content, I suspect that the bag is constructed of a synthetic fiber, like nylon.  Unfortunately, most iron on applications require the use of a very hot iron to activate the glue to adhere them.  Nylon and other synthetic fibers will melt with that type of heat.  Perhaps, using an all purpose waterproof glue would be a better option for adhering your decorations.  You could try one that works well on synthetics, like SimpleFix (outdoor formulation is waterproof) or E6000.
